Asbestos Inspector Training Course
Course Overview
The Asbestos Inspector Training Course certifies individuals to identify, assess, and report the condition of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in buildings. This course is required for professionals conducting asbestos surveys, material identification, condition assessments, and bulk sample collection for laboratory analysis.
Under OSHA regulations, buildings constructed before 1981 must assume that thermal system insulation, sprayed-on or troweled-on surfacing materials, and certain flooring materials contain asbestos (PACM – Presumed Asbestos-Containing Material). Only laboratory analysis of samples collected by a trained and certified asbestos inspector can confirm or rebut this assumption. Building owners and construction professionals are responsible for identifying all ACMs in construction areas through due diligence and proper inspections.
This course meets the requirements of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986, as well as the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan, ensuring compliance for K-12 schools, public buildings, and commercial properties. It is fully approved by the EPA and various state regulatory agencies.
An Asbestos Inspector must carry a valid certificate while working on any project. This course provides comprehensive training, preparing participants to immediately apply their knowledge in the field through hands-on exercises, real-world case studies, and expert instruction.
