Established in 1989, the Institute of Environmental Training (IET) was accredited by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide asbestos training classes. Based in Abilene, Texas, we have been offering state-approved asbestos training across Texas since the late 1980s and continue to serve professionals throughout the state. Licensed by the State of Texas in the mid-1990s, we have trained thousands of students and conducted classes in every major city across Texas.

From the Panhandle to the Valley, El Paso to the Piney Woods, we are Texans training Texans in the asbestos industry. We proudly offer asbestos training in both English and Spanish, with a TexMex-inspired teaching approach that makes learning engaging and accessible.

At IET, our instructors are active professionals in the asbestos industry, bringing real-world experience into the classroom. We don’t just teach from a book—we combine hands-on training, industry best practices, and practical applications to ensure students are fully prepared for the field. With over 30 years of expertise, we are committed to delivering high-quality, industry-leading training.

IET is led by Denny E. Walker, a Texas-licensed asbestos consultant, who brings firsthand industry experience and a unique perspective to our training programs, setting us apart from other training providers.
