Two Hour Asbestos Awareness Training

This training is for maintenance and custodial staff involved in cleaning and minor maintenance tasks where ACM may be accidentally disturbed and or cleaning activities where asbestos is present.

According to the EPA regulations governing schools, all school staff custodial workers who conduct cleaning activities that may result in the disturbance of asbestos-containing building material (ACBM) must receive 2 hours of Awareness Training.

This Asbestos Worker training course is for any individual who perform removal or repair of asbestos on asbestos abatement projects and/or asbestos O&M projects. All asbestos removal activities must be supervised by a certified asbestos Contractor/Supervisor.

Asbestos abatement worker training. The worker training course shall consist of at least four (4) days of training. The worker training course shall include lectures, demonstrations, hands-on training including individual respirator fit testing, course review, and a written test.

Training for asbestos abatement workers is required under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), which is the authority under which EPA issued the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan. This course has been granted full approval by the EPA and various States to meet AHERA and ASHARA accreditation requirements for asbestos work in K-12 schools, as well as in public and commercial buildings.  In addition this class has been granted full approval by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

An Asbestos abatement worker must have completed this training, and have a valid certificate with them at all times while working on abatement projects.

Persons seeking worker registration or accreditation as asbestos abatement workers shall successfully complete the approved 32 hour initial training training course.  Successful completion of the contractor/supervisor training course shall also be acceptable as qualification for asbestos worker.  This class also is your first step in becoming a registered abatement worker in Texas.

This Air Monitoring Technician training course is for any individual who wants to be an air monitoring technician on asbestos abatement projects.  Persons seeking to be certified as air monitoring technicians shall successfully complete an approved three-day training course as described. The air-monitoring technician course shall include lectures, demonstrations, hands-on individual respirator fit testing, course review.

The training for air monitoring technician is a Texas based requirement the course has been developed for the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and is meant only to comply with the DSHS requirement for air monitoring on abatement projects.  The successful student will be qualified to collect all PCM and TEM samples for building owners and abatement personnel monitoring in the state of Texas.  Analysis of PCM samples requires additional training and is not part of the scope of this class.

This class has been granted full approval by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

A Air Monitoring Technician AMT must have completed this training, and have a valid certificate with them at all times while collecting air samples for an asbestos abatement projects.

This Asbestos Management Planner training course accredits individuals who are already certified inspectors to develop asbestos Management Plans (MP) for buildings.  Currently, the EPA only requires management plans for buildings owned and operated by public schools to comply with the AHERA requirements as well as ASHARA.  Many states have additional requirements that govern the Management Planner and his/her duties.

EPA and OSHA require that all building materials be assumed or presumed to contain asbestos unless tested negative.  Certain exclusions to the rule apply and the trained inspector will know the difference after having taken this class.

An Asbestos Management Planner must possess current and valid Inspector and Management Planner certificates and have a copy of their certificates with them at all times when inspecting.   This class prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training from experienced instructors.  It combines lectures, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations.

In the state of Texas as in many states the Inspector/Management Planner must also possess a current valid license to perform Management Planning services and activities.

This Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor training course is for any individual who perform supervision of work on asbestos abatement projects and O & M projects.

Persons permitted to enter the restricted and regulated asbestos abatement work area. The supervisor is also responsible for performing the duties of the OSHA competent person for the asbestos project, consistent with current EPA and OSHA regulations.

Training for asbestos abatement professionals is required under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), which is the authority under which EPA issued the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan. This course has been granted full approval by the EPA and various States to meet AHERA and ASHARA accreditation requirements for asbestos work in K-12 schools, as well as in public and commercial buildings.

An Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor must have completed this training, and have a valid certificate with them at all times while working on qualifying projects. This workshop prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors. It combines lectures, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations. Safe work practices, liability, and glove bag procedures are examined in detail.

This Asbestos Project Designer training course is for any individual who develop written design specification for the abatement of asbestos containing building materials in buildings and or cleanup of contaminated sites and O&M projects.

The designer is responsible for performing multiple duties for abatement projects.  In short the designer must know all of the jobs on the project and put all of the requirements for any given scenario in a written instruction manual for all to follow in the abatement of the asbestos containing materials.  The designer must take into consideration all of the requirements; Cities, Counties, State, OSHA, and EPA.  Any requirements by unions that are on site as well as the wishes and needs of the building owner.  The duties of the OSHA competent person for the asbestos project. Also, to include timely notifications required and schedules that must be met by any; and all of the special considerations of all the parties participating directly or indirectly in the project.

This class also is your first step in becoming a licensed asbestos abatement Project Designer at the Federal level additional training and requirements my apply in your state.  In Texas this and other training can qualify you to be an Individual Consultant.

This Asbestos Inspector training course accredits individuals to assess the condition of asbestos material and report the results. Any person who performs the tasks involved in the asbestos survey, identification and assessment of the condition of asbestos and asbestos material, or who is involved in the collection of bulk samples of asbestos material for laboratory analysis, needs this training.

Training for asbestos abatement professionals is required under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), which is the authority under which EPA issued the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan. This course has been granted full approval by the EPA and various States to meet AHERA and ASHARA accreditation requirements for asbestos work in K-12 schools, as well as in public and commercial buildings.

OSHA requires that all surfacing material – (i.e. sprayed-on or trowled-on materials) and all thermal systems insulation must be presumed to be asbestos containing materials (PACM) in buildings constructed before 1981. OSHA also requires that in these same buildings, all vinyl, resilient, and asphaltic flooring, and the associated mastics and backings must be assumed to be asbestos containing. Only laboratory analysis of samples obtained by a trained and certified asbestos building inspector can rebut OSHAs position on PACM or flooring in buildings constructed before 1981. Building owners, and those involved with construction activities, must identify all asbestos containing materials in the areas of construction via due diligence.

Persons seeking an asbestos license or worker registration with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) or who submit out-of state training as a means of qualification must successfully complete an approved three-hour course on Texas asbestos health protection law.

This requirement shall be completed prior to commencing any licensed asbestos activity within the state of Texas.
